Ingredients:
– 1 whole chicken
– Herbed butter (garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasonings, etc.)
– 1 lemon, halved
– Additional salt and pepper for seasoning
Instructions:
1. Rinse the whole chicken inside and out under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
2. Prepare the herbed butter by mixing together garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasonings, or any other desired herbs and seasonings.
3. Gently loosen the skin of the chicken and rub the herbed butter underneath the skin, covering as much of the chicken as possible. Rub any remaining butter over the entire outside of the chicken.
4. Sprinkle the chicken generously with additional salt and pepper.
5. Place one half of the lemon inside the cavity of the chicken.
6. Place the chicken in the slow cooker.
7. Cook on LOW for approximately 6-8 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
8. Once cooked, carefully transfer the chicken to a serving platter or cutting board.
9. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before carving or simply use a fork to pull the meat off the bone.
10. Serve the succulent and flavorful chicken with your favorite sides and enjoy the tender meat and crispy, golden-brown skin!
Note: No additional liquid is needed in the slow cooker as the chicken will release its own juices during cooking. Adjust the cooking time as needed based on the size of your chicken and the wattage of your slow cooker.
