Crispy Crab Nuggets

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh crab meat
  • 3 slices of white bread, crust removed, or packaged bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

Directions:

  1. If not using packaged bread crumbs, put the bread slices in a food processor to chop them finely.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the beaten egg, mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, and Old Bay seasoning.
  3. Add breadcrumbs and crab meat to the mixture. Mix by hand to avoid breaking up too many lumps. Break up any very large lumps to help the crab balls stay together.
  4. Shape the mixture into 24 balls.
  5. Fry the crab balls in batches in hot oil until golden brown, turning once.
  6. Drain the fried crab balls on paper towels.
  7. Serve with your favorite sauce or enjoy them as is.

These crab balls make for a delicious treat!
