Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) mushrooms (cremini or button), cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Prep the Mushrooms:

  1. Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel or a soft brush to remove any dirt. Trim the stems if necessary. You can leave them whole or halve them, depending on their size.

Sauté the Mushrooms: 2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and slightly bubbling, add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.

Cook the Mushrooms: 3. Add the cleaned mushrooms to the skillet. Stir them to coat with the garlic-infused butter. Cook the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes, or until they start to release their moisture and turn golden brown. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Season and Finish: 4. Sprinkle the cooked mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste. Toss them gently to distribute the seasoning. Remember that Parmesan cheese is also salty, so don’t overdo the salt.

  1. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms. Stir again to help the cheese melt and coat the mushrooms.

Garnish: 6. Once the cheese is melted and the mushrooms are nicely coated, remove the skillet from the heat.

  1. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the mushrooms. The parsley adds a pop of color and freshness to the dish.

Serve: 8. Transfer the Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms to a serving dish. You can serve them as a side dish, appetizer, or even as a topping for steak, pasta, or rice.
