Peppermint Patties

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 pound chocolate almond bark
  • Sprinkles (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract.
  2. Using an electric mixer, slowly incorporate the powdered sugar into the mixture. Aim for a stiff dough that is not sticky.
  3. Once the dough is formed, roll it into balls and place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Gently flatten the balls into a thick disc shape.
  5. Place the tray into the freezer and let the patties freeze for about an hour.
  6. When ready to dip, melt the almond bark in 30-second intervals in the microwave until it is completely melted and smooth.
  7. Working quickly, dip the peppermint patties into the melted chocolate. Shake off any excess chocolate or scrape it off the bottom on the side of the bowl.
  8. Place the dipped patties back onto the parchment paper and immediately top with sprinkles if desired.
  9. For best results, keep the peppermint patties in the fridge until serving to ensure they stay nice and firm.
