Wonton Soup

Wonton Soup

   Ingredients:

**Wontons:**

– 8 ounces ground beef
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
– 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
– 2 green onions, finely chopped
– 24 square (3½ inches each) wonton wrappers

**Soup:**

– 6 cups (1,440 g) chicken broth
– 1½ teaspoons minced garlic
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– 2-3 green onions, finely chopped

   Instructions:

**Wontons:**

1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, brown sugar, and chopped green onions. Mix thoroughly.

2. Place 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of each wonton wrapper.

3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the corners together to form a triangle shape.

4. Lift the long edge of the wonton, wrap the edges in opposite directions, and press firmly to seal, creating a pleated shape. Ensure edges are properly sealed by lightly wetting with water if needed.

5. Complete the process with the remaining wontons and let them rest while preparing the soup.

**Soup:**

1. In a medium pot over medium heat, combine chicken broth, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and finely chopped green onions.

2. In a separate large pot, bring about 4 quarts of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the wontons and cook for approximately 5 minutes.

3. Strain the cooked wontons and add them to the simmering broth mixture. Allow the soup to warm thoroughly before serving.

Enjoy the comforting and flavorful Wonton Soup while warm.
